61st Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Friday, Dec. 2nd, 5:30 p.m. at Plaza Park

Join us this festive evening as City leaders, Downtown merchants, and friends come together to light up Ventura County's tallest Christmas tree - over 110 feet tall! Bring the whole family to officially ring in the holiday season at this six decade tradition. Entertainment, complimentary refreshments, & oh, yes - Santa's coming! 6th Annual Winter Fantasy Music & Light Show

Dec. 2nd - Jan. 1st, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly at Plaza Park

Favorite holiday songs play with over 30,000 computer-synchronized lights, Christmas trees, and animated characters. Show repeats every 15 minutes and premieres at the Tree Lighting on Dec. 2nd.  This is a great opportunity to experience the Music and Magic of Christmas before or after a dinner Downtown with family and friends.  Call 805.247.0197 for more information. Oxnard Christmas Parade

Saturday, Dec. 3rd, 10 a.m. to noon in Downtown

The Annual Oxnard Christmas Parade themed “The Music and Magic of Christmas” is a beloved event for the whole family. Come enjoy colorful marching bands, equestrian units, local school groups, spirited floats and a visit from Santa!  The Parade route is A, 5th and C Streets in Downtown Oxnard. Oxnard Tamale Festival

Get the tastiest tamales in town - from sweet to savory, traditional to gourmet. Learn tamale making with live demos. 5th Annual Holly Trolley Tours

Dec. 13th, 14th & 15th, at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Departs from Centennial Plaza

Climb aboard a grand double-decker for a 50-minute guided tour of Downtown and the Historic District’s spectacular nighttime display of holiday lights and décor. See “A” Street from up high with a stop at Heritage Square for hot cocoa and cookies, then cruise through awesome Christmas Tree Lane. The Holley Trolley Tours are an annual favorite in Downtown and a perfect way to spend time with loved ones.  Prepaid advanced reservations are a must. $10 each. Call 805.385.2705 for reservations.

Taste of the Season at Heritage Square

Heritage Square Christmas Tours and Gingerbread House Contest

Admire the imagination and artistry of the 3rd annual Gingerbread House Contest – sure to bring smiles with its wonderful sights and scents. Santa to the Sea Marathon and Relay

Saturday, Dec. 11th, 8 a.m., citywide including route through Downtown

Run for fun! Run for joy! Run for the kids!  Run in a costume!  The Santa to the Sea Half Marathon, 2 Person Relay and 5K Fun Run helps collect toys for underprivileged children in the community and also provides scholarships to local high school seniors and continuing students to attend Oxnard College.
